Nuno Mateus Coelho

Nuno Mateus-Coelho is a researcher at COPELABS/CTS - UNINOVA and a specialist in cybersecurity and information privacy. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona and an Adjunct Professor at IPCA, as well as Cyber Security Adviser at FORVIA, Media Capital Group, and Nanium Grupo Amkor. He is also CEO of the NRMC Group and President of the Association for the Development of Innovation in Computer Science and Industry, as well as the Association of Former Students of the Higher Institute of Languages and Administration. He holds a PhD in Informatics (Computer Security) from UTAD, is a Senior Engineer and Expert of the Portuguese Order of Engineers, Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal ARIS2-Journal, Director of LAPI2S - Laboratory of Privacy and Information Systems Security, and General Chair of the iSCSi Elsevier Conference. Author of several scientific publications and books in the field, he is also a commentator and author on TVI and CNN Portugal, on cybersecurity and cyberterrorism issues. He was awarded the Inncyber Innovation Award 2021 for “Best European Research in Computer Security”, and in 2023 he took 2nd place in the same competition. Creator of Vent2Life, a project that recovered hundreds of hospital ventilators during the pandemic, helping to save thousands of lives. He currently conducts research into cybersecurity, privacy, cyberterrorism, and critical infrastructure protection, collaborating on national and international projects.
