Pedro Sampaio, PhD in Biotechnology (University of Lisbon, 2009) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering (Lusófona University) and member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. Over the last few years, he has developed research work in different areas, such as data analysis and infrared spectroscopy, bioinformatics, machine learning, bioactive compounds, biochemical engineering, and industrial biotechnology, being involved in different national and international projects. Develops integrated work at COPELABS and collaborates with institutions such as INIAV, Green-IT (ITQB – Collaborating Researcher), among others. In terms of academic management, he has developed pedagogical and academic management work, being director of the Biomedical Engineering course at Lusófona University since 2016.
