Chathuranga Basnayaka is a Researcher and Telecommunication Engineer with a PhD in Computer Science from Lusófona University in Lisbon. His research focusses on cutting-edge areas of wireless communications, including Age of Information, Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC), UAV communications, and Semantic Communications. Chathuranga holds a BSc in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka.
He currently serves as a Researcher at COPELABS, Lusófona University and previously worked as a Research Associate at SLTC Research University, Colombo. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as IEEE Internet of Things Journal and ICT Express and presented at conferences including IEEE GLOBECOM and IEEE VTC. His research has received more than 400 citations, demonstrating its significant impact in the field. Chathuranga has teaching experience as a lecturer at SLTC Research University, University of Ruhuna, and University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
