Iolanda is Ph.D. in Computational Engineering, from IST, Universidade de Lisboa, and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, from FCT, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In the last 10 years, Iolanda has been dedicated to research and academic teaching. Her main research interests include mathematical modeling applied to biological systems, image processing, computational fluid dynamics, numerical analysis and data science. During these years, Iolanda has taught several courses, from the Department of Mathematics to the Department of Physics, in different Universities. Between her Master's and Ph.D., she passed through the Industry, working first in Health Management and then as an Hospitalar Physicist in Instituto Português de Oncologia Francisco Gentil. For the last 6 years, she is being dedicated to teaching data science courses, such as Data Curation, Data Visualization, Data Mining, Probability and Statistics, and others.
